About a year ago, my life took a turn I definitely didn’t see coming.

I lost my job.

At the time, I was mostly trying to figure out what I was going to do next. I had spent almost 20 years in corporate America, and suddenly the security I thought I had wasn’t so secure anymore.

That experience changed the way I thought about income.

I didn’t want to build my future around one paycheck again.

I became a Virtual Assistant and eventually built a business that replaced what I’d been making in corporate. But instead of stopping there, I started paying attention to other ways people were creating income.

Not because I had some big master plan. I didn’t. 😂

I just knew that if I had the opportunity to build more than one source of income, I wanted to do it.

And that’s eventually what led me to Making Wishes Real, or MWR.

Why MWR Made Me Stop and Pay Attention

Travel is something I’ve always loved, and as I get closer to retirement, it’s something I want to do a whole lot more of.

But here’s the obvious problem…

Travel is expensive.

Hotels are expensive. Flights are expensive. And when you start adding up everything that goes into a trip, it doesn’t take long before that trip you’ve been dreaming about gets pushed to “maybe next year.”

So when I found something that could potentially help me save on travel, build travel dollars for the future AND create another source of income, I paid attention.

That’s what MWR is for me.

And once I understood how the different pieces worked together, it made a lot of sense.

So, What Exactly Is MWR?

Making Wishes Real is a travel membership platform.

Members get access to Travel Advantage, where they can search and book travel including hotels and resorts, flights, cruises, car rentals, vacation packages, activities, and excursions.

You can join MWR simply because you want the travel benefits.

That’s important because you do not have to build the business side.

If you love to travel and want access to the membership and travel benefits, you can stop right there.

But if you’re like me and you’re also interested in creating another source of income, there’s an optional Ambassador side.

And that’s the part that really caught my attention.

Let’s Talk About the Travel Dollars

This is one of the pieces I think can sound more complicated than it actually is.

Your monthly membership is $120.

With the Elite membership, you receive 120 travel credits each month.

With the Turbo membership, you receive 240 travel credits each month, even though the ongoing monthly membership is still $120.

Those credits are dollar-for-dollar travel value inside the platform when they’re eligible to be used.

So:

120 travel credits = $120 toward travel

and

240 travel credits = $240 toward travel

The credits accumulate month after month.

And after they’ve aged for 12 months, 100% of those eligible credits can be used toward travel.

That’s the part I really like.

I’m not just paying a membership fee every month and watching that money disappear.

I’m also building travel value for the future.

Here’s What That Can Look Like

Let’s use the Turbo membership as an example because that’s the easiest way to see why this caught my attention.

A Turbo member receives:

240 travel credits every month.

Over 12 months:

240 × 12 = 2,880 travel credits

That’s $2,880 in travel value accumulated over a year.

Those credits can be used toward eligible travel inside the platform, including MWR’s Life Experiences.

And remember…

the ongoing monthly membership is still $120, not $240.

You’re receiving $240 in monthly travel credits at the Turbo level while the monthly membership itself is $120.

But then there’s another piece.

What If Your Membership Could Pay You Back?

This is where the Ambassador side comes in.

If you decide you want to share MWR with other people, you can become an Ambassador and participate in the compensation plan.

And one of the first things that made me think, Okay…this is interesting, was Daily Pay.

Here’s the simple version:

When you personally enroll three active members, you unlock the first level of Daily Pay.

That level pays $4 per day.

Over 30 days:

$4 × 30 = $120.

That’s the same amount as the $120 monthly membership.

So think about what that means.

You can pay the $120 membership yourself and enjoy the travel benefits.

OR…

if you want to build the business side, you can personally enroll three active members and unlock $4-a-day Daily Pay.

That’s $120 over 30 days.

And your travel credits are still accumulating.

That’s the part that made the whole thing click for me.

You Can Stop at Three…or Keep Building

This doesn’t have to become some giant business unless you want it to.

Find three people who also like to travel, want access to travel savings, or see the same opportunity you do.

Once those three active members are in place and you’ve unlocked that first Daily Pay level, you’re earning $4 every day.

You can stop there.

Or you can keep building.

As your organization grows and you qualify for additional levels of the compensation plan, there are additional ways to earn. The MWR compensation structure also includes enrollment bonuses, Fast Start bonuses, membership residual income, team bonuses, and leadership rewards.

That’s why I don’t look at MWR as simply a travel membership.

I see two things happening at the same time:

I’m building travel for my future.

And…

I’m building another potential source of income for my future.

Elite or Turbo?

There are different ways to join, but the two levels I talk about most are Elite and Turbo.

The Elite enrollment is $388, and the Turbo enrollment is $588.

Both have an ongoing monthly membership of $120.

The big difference I’m interested in on the travel-credit side is this:

Elite → 120 travel credits per month

Turbo → 240 travel credits per month

So if someone knows they want to build travel value over time, it’s easy to see why Turbo can be attractive.

At 240 credits a month, you’re accumulating 2,880 travel credits over 12 months.

And if you’ve also unlocked that $4/day Daily Pay level?

You’re receiving the travel credits while also earning the equivalent of that $120 monthly membership over a 30-day period.

That’s what I mean when I say that once I understood the structure, it was hard to unsee it.

There Are Other Ways to Earn, Too

Daily Pay is the easiest part for me to explain because it’s so straightforward, but it isn’t the entire compensation plan.

MWR also has several other ways Ambassadors can potentially earn as they build. These include one-time Member Bonuses, a Fast Start Bonus for qualifying new Ambassadors, monthly membership residual income based on active members in the organization, and additional builder and leadership rewards as the team grows.

For example, the Member Bonus pays according to the membership someone personally enrolls:

VIP → $20

Elite → $40

Turbo → $80

There’s also a Fast Start opportunity for new Ambassadors. Qualifying Elite or Turbo enrollments during the first three weeks can earn up to $450 total through the Fast Start structure.

And as an organization grows, membership residual percentages can increase based on the number of active members.

Do you need to understand every bit of that on Day One?

I don’t think so.

I certainly didn’t. 😂

For me, the simplest place to start was understanding:

I already want to travel.

I want to save and build travel dollars.

I want more than one source of income.

And this gives me the ability to work toward all three.

Why This Fits Where I’m Going

I’m not trying to build something just because I can make money from it.

At this point in my life, I’m thinking much more about what I want the next several years — and eventually retirement — to actually look like.

I want flexibility.

I want to travel more.

I want income that isn’t completely dependent on one job, one client, or one thing continuing to work forever.

And I want to build things now that can still make sense for my life later.

That’s what I see in MWR.

My VA business is still my main income. I’m incredibly grateful for what it has allowed me to build.

But VA is also tied to my time.

MWR gives me an opportunity to build something different alongside it while also helping me do something I already want to do anyway:

travel.

Is MWR for Everyone?

No.

And I don’t think every opportunity has to be.

Some people may join because they simply want access to the travel platform and travel credits.

Some may want the travel benefits and decide they don’t want anything to do with the Ambassador side.

That’s completely fine.

Others may look at the same structure I did and think:

Wait…if I’m already paying for a travel membership, and three active members can unlock $4 a day while my travel credits continue accumulating…why wouldn’t I at least look at the business side?

That’s the person I want to talk to.

Especially the woman who’s starting to think about her future differently.

Maybe you’re approaching retirement.

Maybe you’ve experienced a job loss like I did.

Maybe you’re realizing that depending on one paycheck doesn’t feel as secure as it once did.

Or maybe you just want to travel more without every trip feeling like it takes a small act of Congress to pay for. 😂

You don’t have to decide today that you’re going to build some enormous travel business.

You can simply look.

Understand how it works.

Ask questions.

And decide whether it fits the future you’re trying to build.

What I See When I Look at MWR

I see a way to travel more.

I see travel dollars accumulating every month toward trips I already want to take.

I see an opportunity to build another source of income without creating another product from scratch.

And I see something I can continue building as I get closer to retirement.

That’s why I’m excited about it.

Not because I think it’s some magic answer.

But because it fits.

Travel + another source of income + something I can build for the future.

For me, those pieces make sense together.

And once I saw that…

it was pretty hard to unsee it.
